Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNO): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two public servants while accepting a bribe from a complainant.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) CBI sleuths caught a Patwari and a Chowkidar both residents of Halqa Soaf Shali, Kokernag, Anantnag while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000/- from a complainant.
“The CBI registered the instant case on 15.01.2026 against the accused Patwari. It was alleged that the accused public servant demanded bribe of Rs. 30,000 for demarcation of land of the complainant,” the official said, adding, “The CBI laid a trap on 15.01.2026 and caught the accused Patwari along with the middleman Chowkidar, another public servant, red-handed.
The aforesaid accused persons have been arrested. Further investigation is underway.”—(KNO)
